Horseboxes and Trailers

  Horsebox

The choice you have to make between a horsebox and trailer is a difficult one.
There are several things to consider. Obviously the number of horses that you
want to transport is key and the cost of purchase and maintenance. It will
generally cost you more to buy a horsebox although there are good deals
to be found if you shop around. If you end up with a horsebox don’t forget that
you will still need another vehicle to use day to day so you will paying road tax,
insurance, MOT costs. On the other hand if you have a car that is suitable to
tow a trailer (size, weight etc) it could also be used for everyday driving in
conjunction with a trailer.

If you go for a trailer make sure that you comply with driving licence legalities,
you will need to check that your current driving licence is sufficient or whether
you need to take another test.
